Came here on my sister's recommendation, as it's VERY hard, albeit impossible to find Korean food in the south suburbs. Joy Yee was bustling when we came in. We ordered a Korean soup, marinated bulgogi beef and pad sew ew. The best dish was the shrimp Pad Sew Ew. Everything else was "meh." The problem is they try to do literally EVERY Asian cuisine. They should just stick to one genre and focus on making that right instead of over extending themselves and trying to please all customers, serving lower quality fare.

I have to admit, I wasn't thrilled that Joy Yee was coming to town as they were replacing one of my favorite restaurants. The first time I went in I think I had a little bit of attitude. Now that I've been there three times, my attitude is bring on the YUM! I adore their fried Japanese dumplings, their smoothies, their Vietnamese iced coffee and every entree I have tried. I had sesame chicken, shared it with the table and my husband still had enough to bring for lunch. Yesterday I went accompanied only by my 20 month Granddaughter. They remembered her from my first visit and treated us like royalty. They set up a high chair, brought her water in a cup with a lid and straw plus a plastic fork. Perfect! Then each server came by to say hi to her and slip her a fortune cookie. She and I tried the Chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai plus a fruit cup and the dumplings. We brought most of it home as the serving was crazy generous. It is Z's favorite restaurant - she slurps down those noodles like nobody's business. Great food in a bright friendly room with servers who dote on my granddaughter. Could I give them 6 stars?

This place has good spicy Malaysian Fish. The bubble teas are awesome and fresh. I would recommend this place. The menu is hard to read because they have so much stuff on the menu.

Noodles are one of my passions in life so when a new place opens which specializes in them, we had to try it out. My wife, daughter and granddaughter arrived around 5:30 and the restaurant was already half full. It was noisy and lively with tons of wait staff. For appetizers we split the spring rolls and the fried dumplings and the dumplings were everyone's favorites. Our entrees arrived shortly after the appetizers but they were good about taking them back. For my main dish I had the scallops in meat sauce with pasta and not only was it delicious, but I couldn't finish it. I know, I am surprised also but their portions are huge. I didn't eat breakfast this morning so I could be nice and hungry to finish them and my wife's leftovers for lunch. We shall return.

This is our new go-to spot when we are looking for carry out to take with us into The Open Bottle a few stores down. We have ordered a variety of seafood dishes and appetizers recently and each one has been delicious!

First time at this location, and luckily yesterday wasn't too busy/crowded like the other joy yees. Went to eat dinner with my family (6 adults + 2 kids) and the place is very roomie & clean. Our food came out pretty fast! We ordered the beef cubes with tomato rice (yummm!), viet vermicelli with grilled shrimp (I've had better), the kbbq short ribs is always delish, combination seafood noodle soup was tastey, chop chae was ok, and of course you can't leave without getting a bubble tea/smoothie! I'm glad we finally have this place in the southside! I'll be paying a visit again.

Food is definitely worth coming. But forget about drinks. Or maybe I ordered the wrong one. Basic pearl milk tea is water down sugar drink with pearls taste gooey. And on this cold day, I wanted a hot drink beside plain tea they said they don't know how to make hot drinks, not even hot coffee Wordless.

This place is awesome. Used to go to Chinatown just to eat here. This location was much easier to get to. No crowds. Tried something different. The Malaysian seafood rice and the Vietnamese platter with prawns and beef and Vietnamese spring rolls, love the peanut sauce it comes with. As usual the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately couldn't give it 5 stars because the floor under my table and the bench needed to be cleaned.

I applaud Joy Yee's diverse menu and drink options. I enjoy their drinks but after trying a few different dishes in various visits, I have decided that I don't care for their food much. The food presentation is nice, but the flavors are not authentic or as good as other Asian restaurants focused on one or two specialties. We'll probably go back for the occasional drinks but I would opt for food elsewhere.

Definitely stop by if you are looking for a place to eat nearby. The service was really good, and the food was delicious. However, keep in mind that this is not a place to take your spouse on you anniversary

As a big fan of Joy Yee Noodles, I would like to give 3 stars on this location. 1. Beef cubes over tomato rice -- the sauce was too salty and they didn't use the same type of beef as other locations do for beef cubes over tomato rice. 2. Their service needs to be improved. Literally stared the waiters down to try to get attention whenever I needed something. 3. Mango with tapioca smoothie -- so fresh, so good! Actually the smoothie was better than other Joy Yee Noodles. Bottom line: It was my first time trying out this location, I would give another chance.

  • Marilu S.

I love their food! Their crab ragoons are far one of the best one I've had! They honey pepper short ribs are delicious! Their smoothies are great they have so many for you to pick from. Place is clean and staff is nice. However i do have to agree with other yelp reviews it is hard to get their attention for them to come to your table. They are very fast at preparing the food and it always delicious!

Was a little disappointed in my Bún tht nng bowl - usually its flavorful but this didn't quite have it all together like the other locations. My friend had a bowl too & she was happy with hers but I'm used to the pork being cooked the Vietnamese way not Chinese. Everything else was awesome though! Overall you can't go wrong with Joy Yees, at least not for me!

The first time I came here it was for the grand opening. When I received the menu I was simply floored by all the options. I flipped around and saw that they had probably around upwards of 60 smoothies/bubble tea combinations which honestly blew my mind. I ended up getting raspberry mango smoothie and the beef brisket udon (I think it was around $8 for an entree) and it arrived quickly and with large portion. I only finished about 1/4 of the meal so it was wonderful to have some to bring home. The only real complaint I have is the disorganized menu, it was kind of difficult to navigate such a large selection with minimal organization. Other than that it was a great experience, the wait staff was friendly and very fast. It's refreshing to have Asian food in Tinley Park tht at has so many different options, at an affordable price that even broke college students can eat there!

Was otw to a Journey concert and was looking around to eat somewhere instead of spending a small fortune for a corn dog at the Ampitheatre. To my surprise, I happened by this brand new Joy Yee's branch!!!!!! I was so happy it was like the stars aligned. The only time I'm in the area is for concerts but so good to know this is here now Can't go wrong with the Vietnamese spicy calamari, soft shell crab udon noodle soup and honey beef teriyaki shortribs. I've been going to joy yee's for ten years now (first one I ever visited was in Evanston) and it's definitely my favorite place. So good to see it expanding all over. Hands down best bubble smoothies out there. They don't skimp on the fruit for the shakes. I also recently discovered how good mango jelly is in my mango bubble shakes. Now I don't even want the tapioca anymore, just the star shaped mango jelly!

  • Andrea L.

My first time here. They had a good variety of Asian style options and bubble teas. My hot bowl dish and coconut milk tea were very good. And my leftovers were just as good. I hope to be near Tinley Park soon to try them out again!

I've been dyyyyyyyyyyyyying for some Joy Yee even long before they opened a new spot in Tinley Park. Seeing all the bubble tea pics and enormous portions of food made me drool. I had a plan for my mom's b-day lunch, but after finding out the place we had was cursed with terrible Yelp reviews, we needed a Plan B. Joy Yee is one of the best Plan B's I've ever had. I went with a peach milk boba tea and an order of some sort of chicken terrayki with an egg on top. (When my neighboring table ordered it, I knew I wanted it) My mom and sister both went for the lunch specials. My mom ordered the chicken fried rice. I don't normally order fried rice, but hers reminded me of the fried rice at hibachi grills and i LOVED it. It was mouth watering. My sister got chicken and broccoli. It looked good but also looked like it needed something else. They both had enough food to take home, which is crazy considering it was off the lunch menu. Mine was pretty good, although it looked better than it tasted. I wish I would have went for the lettuce wraps or the thai curry, which were what I intended on ordering. Their veggie spring rolls that come with the lunch combos are some of the best I've ever had. Next time, I'll be ordering an entire platter of those alone and jamming them down my throat simultaneously. The major downfall is that the service here was absolutely terrible. We had to keep getting up and finding the server to get anything else. I'm not normally a type of person that would go flag down the server, but you almost have to at this location.

The only thing good is the crab ragoon and the drinks that are overpriced. The door is so heavy...too bad they don't fix that, it's probably a glitch with the door

SO EXCITED JOY YEE IS IN TINLEY! Wahoo! Took a bunch of my baby cousins out for some bubble tea and everyone loved their drinks! Their menu was extensive (at least for the bubble tea) and everyone was friendly! Will definitely be back!

As my wife and I entered the establishment we did not have high expectations for this place. In fact, I believe the exact quote from my wife was "This might be a step above a Panda Express". Not that there is anything wrong with Panda Express, but it is what it is and when you eat at a Panda Express you know what you are going to get. This hidden gem blew my expectations out of the water as well as my wife. The menu is huge and incredibly diverse. You could seriously spend close to 20 minutes reading the menu and still not know what to get because of the variety they have to offer. Seeing that we came in 30 minutes before closing we really didn't have that luxury so we decided on a simple selection of crab rangoon, beef lo mein and sesame chicken with hot tea to drink. Within minutes (maybe 5) our crab rangoon was served to us piping hot. The prepared wontons were fried perfectly and full of delicious filling served with a side of delicious sweet chili sauce that complimented the appetizer quite wellwe order could easily feed three adults due to the large size each rangoon. Soon after our entrees were served. I orders the beef lo mein and my wife ordered the sesame chicken. Both came to the table with enough food to feed two adults with leftovers. Texture and flavor on both dishes was spot on. My wife's only complaint was that she only got four pieces of broccoli with her dish and given the size of the entre one would expect a little more. That aside the dish was perfectly cooked. My beef lo mein was prepared just as well. It was piping hot with a generous portion of tender beef and delicious noodles. The service was good and attentive until the end when we presented our Yelp generated coupon for 20% off. The waitstaff jumped down our throats and told that they were not going to honor the coupon because it had expired 3 days ago. While I understand that the coupon had expired, the management needs to be more proactive to take the promotions down our be prepared to honor the coupon until it is no longer offered.

I ordered a green tea no milk no sugar two days in the row. Day 1 cost me $3.00 a cup, day 2 costume $3.75 a cup. And I asked the cashier three times why is there such a difference. He said to me, that's how we charge......this place is bad...never come here again!!!!!

  • Alisha M.

Ok I wanted to love this place. We'll sit in and see how the service is when you eat there but I did not have very good service when I went to go pick up. They're menu is so expansive they literally have something for everyone! my favorite dish to get anywhere is Phó so I was really looking forward to trying theirs. It was good but a little greasy, I got tofu Phó and they just cubed up raw tofu and put it in the broth. Not very appetizing hahah generally places will either bake it up first or cook it on the flat top before they put it in the broth for flavor and textural purposes!

  • Titi L.

Food is awesome and service is even better. Smoothies are good. A little too sweet but still very good. Favourites off the menu are the spicy veggie dumplings, the malaysian fried rice, lettuce wraps and the short ribs. All I've eaten there has been yummy.

If you want great Asian food, this is the place to come! Huge portions and wonderful taste!

  • M. O.

Excellent, excellent. Hard to find Korean food in the suburbs let alone decent Korean food. Had the beef chap chae noodles for lunch special, only $7.95 with sweet n sour or miso soup and a spring roll. Also had the yaki mandu (korean veggie dumpling), $5.75 for 10 pieces. The chicken & shrimp pad thai was also a great dish. I have to add the Thai Green Curry chicken and shrimp fried rice. A bit spicy, but you cannot go wrong with the lunch special deal! As for service, they seat you, take your order, present you with your food at lightning speed, and leave you and your food in good company. Plan on trying a tapioca ball smoothie and beef kimchi fried rice!

  • Brian H.

Great food at a reasonable price. The menu is a little overwhelming because of the number of entrees, but the staff was friendly and offered good recommendations. The food was fresh and arrived quickly. The bright atmosphere was a great choice for lunch for a cold winter day.

  • Shelly M.

Bubble teas with tapioca are delish esp. Mango, watermelon, and honey dew. You can't go wrong with any of those. Crab Rangoon is very tasty and filling. Beef and tomato rice is my favorite dish! We also ordered the kimchi fried rice which was really good. Portions are large and about right for the price. One negative the chicken teriyaki was way too salty! Never ordering that again. But will be back for the bubble teas and other dishes!

  • Nikka U.

Please try the bubble teas (aka smoothies). Food is delicious, restaurant is very clean and simple, and the menu is never ending. There are many choices of cuisines from all parts of Asia. The portions are quite large and good enough to serve about 2-3 people. They have the widest varieties of the most amazing bubble teas. For those who havent tried Tapioca or the black pearls in the drink dont fear. They are delicious and add a sense of uniqueness and flavor to the drink. I at least dine here every week. Very family friendly and the prices are reasonable not to cheap or expensive.

Awesome Thai food. I have tried so many items on the huge menu! Everything as good as when I visited Thailand. Very nice atmosphere in dinning room. Highly recommend !!!

One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. The service was ok at this location. The food is always good no matter what you order and you always have food to take home. Hot tea is complimentary if you ask for it. Joy Yee will always be one of my go to restaurants in Chicago.

Thank You for opening in South Side Chicago, finally some good Chinese Place. The food was fantastic and the wait staff were very attentive to customer needs. The atmosphere is open, inviting and clean. My family love this place so much, we're all go here at least once a month. Thank you Joy Yee.

They give you very big portion of noodles and fry rice!! I like their pho and shabu!!i know they have another joy yee in Chinatown and the place is always so crowded. This place is much better!

  • Tim J.

So far some of the best Pho I have had around here..only Big Bowl was better. Figures...but this place is also really authentic. Too many crazy slight variations on the menu and staff that cannot communicate with their american customers. Also staff really annoyed and totally bored with my menu questions. Taste was really rich broth and there are a million options for meat but I chose traditional brisket which made be smack my lips quite a bit. If I could give 4.5 stars they deserve it. Numerous thai, chinese and japanese authentic dishes here. Weirdly this has an 'ameri-asian' style to it where staff are authentic to what the young asian culture would be in Japan...but, this place is not as refined as it could be. It is an asian noodle house slash bubble tea joint. I half expected to see hello kitty crap laying around. I hope this place gets pushed in a good direction, and I hope it puts pad thai out of business.

  • Harris M.

This place is great, really good asain food. Seems like a fusion between Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Korean food. They have a huge variety literally over a 100 dishes. The pho, Malaysian fried rice, pad thai, seafood Kimchi noodle are all delicious. Plus don't forget thier smoothies they have a lot and the mango freeze is authentic, they use real mangos and they are awsome

  • Kay C.

Great asian food, love the bubble tea. Went there with friends during a conference at the convention center. We ordered a couple of starters, thai spring rolls and vietnamese spring rolls, they were tasty. I ordered curry chicken, it came in a huge bowl, I only ate about 1/3 of it, but it was delicious. I also had a thai iced tea with tapioca balls, loved it. My niece and nephew introduced me to bubble tea and this place was really good. I even took one to go. The ambience leaves a lot to be desired, I won't lie but the food is definitely worth a stop, just maybe not for date night. Can't wait to go back!

Real Asian cuisine. Chinatown quality in the south suburbs. Egg rolls are phenomenal and everything tasted as it should...different. Truly a gem of an Asian restaurant. Not your standard "Chinese" menu but REAL Asian cuisine. Very nice dining room as well

Had a chicken, pork chop and shrimp over rice with my buddy after the golf expo. Maybe it was late and they were about to close, but the chicken and pork chop was so dried, I could not eat it.

Amazing! We eat here often & always get the crab Rangoon, the beef & tomato rice, and the seafood chow fun. Seriously Amazing.

Consistently fires on all cylinders all the time. Blazingly quick service, food is ordered and out in under 10 minutes for almost all their dishes. Place is spotless, staff is friendly and informative. Lastly the food is just so darn good. The best Asian spot in the south side hands down.

Delicious food & huge portions! This is my go to spot for asian food, They also have a HUGE selection of smoothies. yum yum yummm!

Lunch 6-24-2014. Service: poor. Prices: ok. Quantity: very good. Presentation: Very good. Decor: Poor Menu: Way too big! Taste: My Green chicken curry was tasteless. It said spicy on the menu (as usual), but was really bland. I asked for some ground chili peppers, but to no avail. They need some more spices on the table. The curry, (and included soup), came all at once. Soup was Hot & Sour, (Luke warm) Curry was hot and very thick, but the taste was totally lacking. Service was poor, (other than the water person) Servers were too busy talking with each other rather to paying attention to their source of income. I will definitely go back and try again, but try a different entree.

  • Trevino M.

They don't sell alcohol. So keep in mind you can't order beer or wine. Don't know if place allows BYOB. large portions. Nice quality food. Service could be a little better though.

After all of the rave views I guess we were expecting much more. Whenever I go to a new noodle shop I always start with my standby of pad Thai. Pad Thai here was a huge disappointment it lacked flavor and freshness. several people I was with ordered two different dishes. The vegetable fried rice was adequate however the kung pap chicken was just mediocre. The Decor and ambience are very sterile and Do not invite one to linger and enjoy the meal. Will not be back with so many other good Asian / Thai choices in the area.

So thankful they opened up another location close to home. Long list of food to choose from. If you are curious with smoothie flavor, try the avocado or durian.

AMAZING!!!! I introduced my mom to pearl drinks here, and she loved it! This place is definitely delicious to me as well, who believe me, has had MANY pearl drinks. They have so many different flavors, so take your time and look at them all. Although this was a first-time trip, I am definitely planning on coming back here a lot more, and introducing other friends and family members to it. This time around, we only got drinks. However, I was looking around at the other tables and the food they ordered. It certainly LOOKED delicious. I am excited for the opportunity to eat a meal here as well. Their service is the kind where they leave you alone most of the time, and only stop by like once or twice, which I personally like. I don't like to keep being bothered (I'm allowed to knock on waiters/waitresses, because I am one). You can always get their attention, though, because they are observant- just from a distance. IF YOU PLAN ON PAYING WITH YOUR CARD: They have a $10 minimum. Two drinks reached $9.50, plus the tip. But if you're just going by yourself to get a drink, make sure you bring cash! :)

We took our two elementary school-aged daughters to Joy Yee tonight and we all had a wonderful time. We were seated immediately and our egg roll appetizers and smoothies came instantly! I had beef pho, my husband had spicy shrimp noodles, and the girls shared chicken fried rice and dumpling soup. The portions were American family style HUGE and we took a lot of our food home. It's so nice to have a more interesting Asian restaurant in Tinley Park.

  • Mia L.

Yes! Finally--a Joy Yee's around the south suburbs! The service is excellent...the waiters are def on top of things--making sure your food is satisfactory, refilling your water, and friendly with customer service. The food is just as great as its other locations. Great selection of foods (although we requested extra rice paper for our Vietnamese platter and were denied--yeah..what the? =\). Needless to say, the drinks are deliciously lush--fresh fruits, tapioca, YUM--refreshingly tasty and different from the "fruit smoothies" you would find elsewhere. As far as the atmosphere, I really like the floors and tables. The chairs are pretty hallmark-Joy-Yee-esque. I'd like to suggest some color on the walls with some tasteful artwork. The plain white walls tempt me to shop and offer them some art pieces. Aside from that, joy YUM. Loved the food and drinks, pleased with the service, and yeah I'd def come back, considering it's not too far from my neck of the woods.

We've been waiting rather impatiently for this place to open. Menu is as extensive as the Joy Yee in Chinatown, and the food was very good. My husband ordered the spicy chow fun noodles with beef. Noodles were chewy and delicious. I had vermicelli noodles with pork. I was surprised that this was a cold dish, almost like a salad, but it was delicious and I would order it again. Both of us had watermelon drinks with tapioca. When we arrived at the restaurant it was easy to get a table, but by the time we left, there was a line out the door. Service was quick and good. There is a bit of a language disconnect, but we got everything sorted out. We will be back again soon.

I'm no authority or expert when it comes to authentic Asian fare and cuisine, I do however know a thing or three when I come across some damn good tasting food and delicious drinks from traveling abroad southeast Asia. I've become very familiar with Joy Yee's original restaurant in Chinatown due in part for their widely popular bubble tea's, fresh fruit smoothies and other delicious drink offerings but I never had the inclination to dine in and try the food. My main problem was every time I visited this location it was way overcrowded and with usually very long wait times to dine-in, so I always passed on the food. However, that has all changed recently when I grabbed hold of the news they were about to open a new location in Tinley Park. Of all places Tinley Park you say? Yep, I had the same thoughts and reaction as you did. And that is great news and a welcome change in this area and for the far south suburbs for that matter it so desperately needs. When it comes to Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese,Japanese etc.. you'll typically find the more American Chinese restaurant variant with the funny names we have come to know and love like " Happy Treasures", "Three Happiness", "Dragon Palace", "Kum Den" "Pho King" or one of my favorites "Jee'z Pot". Joy Yee South as it has been ably named though not as a funny name it is located in the same location of the former Yes Asia restaurant near Harlem Ave and 183rd St., a former overpriced Asian place that had an awesome interior design and decor (rarity) but I never saw one Asian person eat there, ever. I always saw the same crowd inside; a few badly orange tanned white girls, hipsters, couples that thought they were eating Asian food and of course 1 Mexican, me. Ok enough of silly writing, the food and service you say?. I won't say what many have already posted and commented on here of the food, I dislike redundancy. However, I will tell you the delights that I have eating thus far have been tastefully prepared and cooked, enormous size portions plus doesn't taste like a plate of MSG or have a very shiny coating like most Asian food I've come across these days. The teas/smoothies/drinks? There are 4-5 menu pages dedicated just for the drink options alone. What I can I say? Simply awesome, enough options to chose from and be creative and/or can mix up your own variety plus they are all freshly made with real fruit and not some flavor powders or artificial flavors. However I prefer my bubble teas without the tapioca or jelly fruit I see them topped with but I guess it's an Asian thing. I should be able to drink my drink not eat my drink but that's just me. Plus there are actual real Asian customers dining inside too..Woo-Hoo! That must count for something right? It's like walking in to a Mexican restaurant but all you see is Caucasians in their birthday sombreros drinking frozen margaritas and yelling Oley! (I'm looking at you Tinley and Orland Park residents) Nothing worse than that I tell you. Nothing. On to the service. It may not come to a surprise to anyone, but let's face it. Good service and Asian Restaurants are like Pakistan and India, they don't get along. I would argue that Asian's are not known for hospitality when it comes to the food industry. Stereotype? Perhaps, but it's true, but these folks here are not too shabby, so please take it as a compliment. The service is actually good but not great but for an Asian joint, it's like getting fed from Mother Theresa herself at her home. Trust me my tips reflect that and my equation is simple, treat me with respect + great service = compensated nicely. Joy Yee met most of my minimum service requirements: 1.Attentive 2. Water never less than half full at any given time 3. A genuine smile 4. Clean plates and utensils after each meal. Although I never ever was asked if I wanted a happy ending. My drawbacks are a few. Who decorated this place? Bland. White. Walls. Zero attempt to make it look appealing inside whatsoever. But as I stated earlier, Most and I say most Asian restaurants put almost no effort into interior design. I will give them credit for not putting a frame of the Great Wall of China or a broken down version of Genghis Khan or that stupid white porcelain cat pumping his hand up and down. It's like walking into a dentist office that had leftover white paint,a far cry from the beautiful interior from the former restaurant it replaced. 2nd, the place is so popular now that it's starting to have the same cause and effect as the Chinatown location, it's become so busy now that finding a seat during lunch or dinner will become problematic if you want to dine-in that is. Lucky for me, I live down the street so take out option is great. Lastly, No HOT version of their teas? Blasphemous!. Ok now stop reading and go enjoy Joy-Yee but the badly orange tanned white girls and Asian hipsters are taking over rapidly, you've been warned.

So glad to finally have a Joy Yee restaurant in the south suburbs! This location is as great as the others. All of the food is delicious and authentic with huge portions. The service was fantastic and the staff extremely helpful. The menu offers so much variety and will satisfy everyone.

Food=5/5. Service 0/5. Forgot my entire order including my drink. Everyone was done eating when I got my food and that was after I reminded them. Didnt even offer to have my food on the house. I mean I would've still paid. All they said was they forgot. I would have left no tip but there were like 15 of us so gratuity was already included in the bill. Boo.

Ok, this use to be the old Yes Asia, that we really liked and when they went out of business we were saddened however, after reading reviews on Yelp we decided to give this place and try and are we glad we did. The menu is HUGE!!! I'm not kidding look it up on line before you go as it can be a bit intimidating at first. The drink menu is outstanding. The fruit smoothies use REAL fruit not the syrup kind or powders. The iced coffees (there are different kinds) are all wonderful. Shrimp spring rolls fresh, had orange chicken, pho, shrimp with garlic and they were all super. Service has been excellent each time we came and very personable servers. Kitchen staff is fast with getting out orders. This place is usually crowded but is a decent size so it's pretty easy to get a seat. Prices are good for the portions.

Not a big fan of Chinese food but compare to other Chinese restaurants within 10 mile from my house, This is the best and authentic so far. Dishes are range from $6-15 with big portion very fulfilling.

Absolutely horrible service! Main course was delicious and plentiful. Egg rolls were not what I expected, they were very similar to Panda Express. Fried rice...I can't figure out of that's their style or they horribly screwed that up. It was like buttered steamed white rice with traces of fried egg throughout. Anytime I had fried rice it was brown and flavorful not off white and zero flavor. Orange chicken and governors chicken were absolutely delectable! Perfect amount of spicy too. I'll visit again just because of the chicken but get my egg rolls and fried rice elsewhere

Great food as always! And the bubble teas are awesome. I wish they would implement a punch card (get a free boba tea when you purchase 10 bobas). I would get one everyday!

I was simply overjoyed that Joy Yee was coming to the south suburbs. I have been to this establishment at least 4 times now. The food is great and delicious, but my only problem is the service. No one comes to the table to ask how is the food, do you need anything, etc. I had to at times literally flag down a waiter just to get my food wrapped and the bill. Everything is wonderful here like I'd mentioned, but they need to step it up with the service.

I will give this another try but I doubt if it will be any good... The place has no ambience whatsoever...everyone in a hurry...polite but not too concerned.. Affordable. Quick seating. Familiar. CRAB RANGOON -- cream cheese galore. Excellent crunch from fryer. CHICKEN WONTON SOUP -- good broth. Plentiful of chunky ingredients. Small is just right for 2. CHICKEN TERIYAKI -- serves 2-4. Comes with a bowl of white rice. Soft chicken. SERVICE -- simple (take orders and deliver). Automatic brown bag. 1-STAR LESS: - one XX and XY BATHROOM for the entire restaurant. - misleading photo (no green veggies in chicken teriyaki) - brown bag did not contain sauce for Rangoon leftover

Their bubble tea is the best! I usually stop by once a week for the taro freeze bubble tea. Or any of the mango freezes! Get the tapioca balls for an extra 50 cents, it's worth it! So good! I really like the egg over rice dishes. ahh, so good! This restaurant also always looks nice and clean. And the decor is so cute! This is definitely a go-to place in Tinley!

My husband and I were remarkably disappointed by our Joy Yee visit today. We grew up in an area in Southern California where Asian cuisine was plentiful and we were hoping to relive some of that today. We ordered two bowls of beef brisket pho noodles, but only received one. This ended up being a happy mistake as the pho was subpar and we were glad we did not have to pay for two bowls. The pieces of beef were fatty and chewy and basically inedible. They also skimped on the noodles. No traditional side garnishes were served either. You can't have pho without limes! Our fried shrimp shumai appetizer came to the table almost cold. We rarely ever send food back, but we did ask for them to reheat our dish. You are better off buying some frozen shumai from Trader Joe's and heating them up in the microwave at home. The only saving grace was my taro smoothie, although it was overpriced and the boba was not fully cooked through. Lunch was so unappetizing that we did not feel like eating anything for the rest of the day.

Let me start off by saying that this is one of my new favorite restaurants. The food is outstanding! The portion size is large, and the drinks are delicious. However, I do have a few gripes: 1. The seating arrangements are awkward. There are no booths, just tables that are lined up with each other with little to no space in between. You could be sitting right next to another individual, couple, or family trying to avoid eye contact. And this doesn't just happen when the restaurant is crowded, they'll seat you right next to someone with no buffer in between when the restaurant is somewhat empty. 2. The service isn't the best. Your waiter will visit your table to take your order, give you your food, check on you once, then give you your bill when you ask for it. You could be waiting a very long time for the bill, so take the initiative yourself to ask for it. A lot of the wait staff do not speak English very well, though I will not fault them for that. A lot of the problems do seem to come from the language barrier. They may not want to visit your table less often to avoid conversation and interaction. If you have a problem with your meal, it may be best to speak to a manager. If you don't mind a lot of the minor service and seating issues, you will really enjoy Joy Yee. I get the Tofu Pad Thai with the "Strawberry w/Mango Popping Boba" drink. Give it a shot!

I've been here a few times and the service and food is spotty. Some days it's been excellent and other days like today average. Service is always spotty but by far today was the worst. We ordered lunch specials with one mild one medium spice level, that is not at all what we got. We were served regular portions and told we did not order the lunch special. The heat level was also wrong. So what should have been about a 28 dollar meal turned into over a 40 dollar lunch. Word of advice to diners maybe point on the menu to what you want to make sure you get the right order. Also don't go expecting great service the food comes quick once your order is taken but getting the wait staffs attention can be difficult. If you know what you want tell the waiter as soon as possible as they may take awhile to get back to you.

Smoothies are good and nearly on point. The food is terrible though! It's the worst Joy Yees ever! I ordered spring rolls once and it wasn't done right AT ALL. They only had romaine lettuce. I ordered pad Thai today and they used lemon.... Lol. I've had pad Thai at the other locations before. It doesn't look the same nor taste the same. Pathetic. It's ok to be Americanized, but it's like REALLY American.

We stopped here before a concert, not knowing what to expect. We were all surprised with how great the food was. I had the Traditional Beef Stone Bowl Rice, and it was amazing. I'm not a fan of so much hot sauce so if you're not either, i'd suggest getting it on the side. But besides that it was really really good. The stone stayed hot thru out the whole meal and I love how it crisped up the rice. We can't wait for the Naperville location to open.

One of our favorite places for a family night out. Also, a great date place for quick casual lunch or dinner. Every entree I've ordered has been delicious. The decor is fresh and has an urban vibe. If you can't find a drink you like here, you won't find one anywhere. My fav is the Chocolate mint tapioca.

It is Asian food that is served here and Joy Yee's does offer pretty much everything and does everything pretty well. The Thai food isn't bad, but it's okay. Their phos are actually pretty good to me, but obviously not as good as places in Argyle. What their standouts are is the Chinese food as it's a Chinese restaurant that happens to serve other Asian cuisines. Also, their bubble teas are really, really good. For a short travel this place is great. This Joy Yee's is friendlier IMHO than the one in Chinatown, by UIC, and near Northwestern... probably because it's in the SW burbs. Service is good here. The food though isn't the best I've ever had and if reviewing this place on their non-Chinese dishes would warrant a 3 star. There are other places I would go to for Thai or Vietnamese or Korean, but Joy Yee's is fine as is.

Wow! I found a hidden gem of a restaurant in the South. We ordered the Pad Thai, Shrimp Fried Rice and Chicken & Beef Brisket Pho Soup. The chicken and shrimp pad Thai was better than no other. The Shrimp on the Fried Rice were huge. I never been to restaurant were they had very large shrimp in their fried rice. I ordered the Beef Brisket and Chicken Phó and it was so pipping hot I only ate some it and took home the rest. I really enjoyed the food at Joy Yee South. I have visited the other location in Chinatown. Great food with great service! We will be back. Enjoy. #SeñorFood

My first time here. They had a good variety of Asian style options and bubble teas. My hot bowl dish and coconut milk tea were very good. And my leftovers were just as good. I hope to be near Tinley Park soon to try them out again!

Food is awesome and service is even better. Smoothies are good. A little too sweet but still very good. Favourites off the menu are the spicy veggie dumplings, the malaysian fried rice, lettuce wraps and the short ribs. All I've eaten there has been yummy.

Great food at a reasonable price. The menu is a little overwhelming because of the number of entrees, but the staff was friendly and offered good recommendations. The food was fresh and arrived quickly. The bright atmosphere was a great choice for lunch for a cold winter day.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
